Proposed Pilgrimage Itinerary *

Day 1 - Arrive Fatima 31st August, 2026

Check in at Dublin airport for our flight to Lisbon. On arrival in Lisbon at 12.45pm, we will be met by our guide and escorted to the coach for our transfer to Fatima where we will check into the Hotel Steyler on a half board basis. 4 Hotel Steyler

Day 2 - Introduction to the Sanctuary1st September, 2026

After morning Mass, we will enjoy an introductory tour of the sanctuary seeing the Capelhina, the Rosary Basilica, Statue of the Sacred Heart and water fountain, Berlin Wall, Chapel of Adoration, Reconciliation Chapel and Basilica of the Holy Trinity. We will enjoy time at leisure for private prayer and after dinner we will have Rosary and participate in the Candlelight procession.

Day 3 - Aljustrel 2nd September, 2026

The coach will pick us up at the hotel directly after breakfast for our morning trip to Valinhos and Aljustrel. Our first stop will be Valinhos where Our Lady appeared on the 19th August in 1917. Our Lady appeared to the children here as they had been taken in for questioning by the authorities on the 13th and were not at the Cova D'Iria. After praying at this very special place we will walk to the Cabeco where the angel appeared to them the first and third of the three times he appeared in 1916. We then proceed to Aljustrel, the village where the three little shepherds were born. We visit their homes and the well at the bottom of Lucia's garden where the angel appeared the second time. Our last stop before we return to the hotel will be the Fatima parish church. There we will see the baptismal font where all three were baptised. In the afternoon attend holy Mass in the Capelinha (apparition site) after which there will be an introductory tour of the sanctuary and see the Capelinha, the Rosary Basilica and tombs of the Seers, Statue of the Sacred Heart and water fountain, candle area, Berlin Wall, Chapel of Adoration, Reconciliation Chapel and Basilica of the Holy Trinity. We return to our hotel for dinner followed by the Rosary and Candlelight procession. Day 4 - Hungarian Way of the Cross 3rd of September, 2026

This morning after breakfast we will depart the hotel via bus transfer to the Hungarian Way of the Cross (a gift from the Hungarian People). As we walk through the olive groves on the path the three shepherd children would have taken many times on their way to the Cova D'Iria we pray the stations of the cross. We finish at the beautiful little Chapel of Saint Stephen where we can spend a short while in prayer and climb the steps to the Calvary on the roof of the chapel from where there is a beautiful view taking in Aljustrel, Fatima Parish Church and the Rosary Basilica. The afternoon will be free to stroll through the town or visit some of the museums and exhibitions or return to the village of Aljustrel by tourist train to enjoy its peaceful ambience. Dinner in the hotel before rosary and candlelight procession in the Sanctuary. Day 5 - Day at leisure 4th of September, 2026

Today we will have the day at leisure for private prayer and sightseeing.

Day 6 - Transfer to Lisbon 5th of September, 2026

After breakfast we will check out of our rooms and make our way to our coach transfer to Lisbon. Upon arrival, we will be brought to our hotel and given time to check-in and settle into our rooms, before an optional coach city tour will be provided for the group to see the main sites in the city. After the tour, we will have the remainder of our day for leisure and sightseeing.

Day 7 - Day at leisure 6th September, 2026

This morning after breakfast we will take this day at leisure to explore the Portuguese capital at our own pace. Pilgirms can make their way to St. Anthony's church, Jeronimos Monastery or S Cathedral, or walk along the streets or river Tagus to unwind and enjoy the city atmosphere.

Day 8 - Holy Relic of St. Brigid 7th of September, 2026

After breakfast, we will have time to pack our bags and check out of our rooms, before meeting in the hotel lobby at mid-day to get on our coach to Lumiar, where the skull of St. Brigid of Kildare is kept.

In 1276 the Bishop of Lisbon decided to build a church at Luimar and he placed it under the patronage of nuns at Odivelas. When King Dinis of Portugal heard that three Irish knights were bringing St. Brigid's head to Portugal, he wanted to have it preserved in the convent of Odivelas, but it was placed in the church at Lumiar, where it remains to this day.The three faithful knights remained with the Holy Relic for the rest of their days, and when they died they were interred in tombs let into the wall of St. Brigid's chapel. The inscription reads: Here in these three tombs lie the three Irish knights who brought the head of St. Brigid, Virgin, a native of Ireland, whose relic is preserved in this chapel. In memory of which, the officials of the Table of the same Saint caused this to be done in January A.D. 1283.

Here celebrate Holy Mass before proceeding to the Airport for our return flight departing Lisbon for Dublin.

*It is our intention to follow the itinerary as outlined above, however due to many factors like local holidays, traffic or weather conditions it may be necessary to make changes to the order of events or even the cancelation of certain events.
