Proposed Pilgrimage Itinerary *

Day 1 - Arrive Fatima - 13th June, 2026

Check in at Dublin airport for our flight to Lisbon. On arrival in Lisbon at 10:45am, we will be met by our guide and escorted to the coach for our transfer to Fatima where we will check into the Hotel Steyler on a half-board basis. Depending on our time of arrival, we will receive a light snack or dinner before settling into our rooms.

Day 2 - Introduction to the Sanctuary - 14th June, 2026

After morning Mass, we will enjoy an introductory tour of the sanctuary seeing the Capelhina, the Rosary Basilica, Statue of the Sacred Heart and water fountain, Berlin Wall, Chapel of Adoration, Reconciliation Chapel and Basilica of the Holy Trinity. We will enjoy time at leisure for private prayer and after dinner we will have Rosary and participate in the Candlelight procession.

Day 3 - Valinhos and Aljustrel - 15th June, 2026

The coach will pick us up at the hotel directly after breakfast for our morning trip to Valinhos and Aljustrel. Our first stop will be Valinhos where Our Lady appeared on the 19th August in 1917. Our Lady appeared to the children here as they had been taken in for questioning by the authorities on the 13th and were not at the Cova D'Iria. After praying at this very special place we will walk to the Cabeco where the angel appeared to them the first and third of the three times he appeared in 1916. We then proceed to Aljustrel, the village where the three little shepherds were born. We visit their homes and the well at the bottom of Lucia's garden where the angel appeared the second time. Our last stop before we return to the hotel will be the Fatima parish church. There we will see the baptismal font where all three were baptised. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon attend holy Mass in the Capelinha (apparition site) after which there will be an introductory tour of the sanctuary and see the Capelinha, the Rosary Basilica and tombs of the Seers, Statue of the Sacred Heart and water fountain, candle area, Berlin Wall, Chapel of Adoration, Reconciliation Chapel and Basilica of the Holy Trinity. We return to our hotel for dinner followed by the Rosary and Candlelight procession.

Day 4 - Trip to Santarem - 16th June, 2026

This morning there will be a half day excursion to the city of Santarem where we will visit the Church of St Stephen also known as the Church of the Eucharistic Miracle. There we will celebrate Holy Mass and venerate the host that miraculously bled in the year 1247 as the result of being treated with disrespect. Afterwards there may be a little time for leisure before returning to Fatima for Lunch. In the afternoon spend some free time visiting the tombs of the shepherds or spend a while in the museum of light and peace where you can see the bullet in the Crown of Our Lady and the Irish Monstrance. After dinner there will be rosary at the Capelinha followed by Candlelight Procession.

Day 5 - Hungarian Way of the Cross + Transfer to Estoril - 17th June, 2026

This morning after breakfast we will depart the hotel on foot to walk the Hungarian Way of the Cross (a gift from the Hungarian People). As we walk through the olive groves on the path the three shepherd children would have taken many times on their way to the Cova D'Iria we pray the stations of the cross. We finish at the beautiful little Chapel of Saint Stephen where we can spend a short while in prayer and climb the steps to the Calvary on the roof of the chapel from where there is a beautiful view taking in Aljustrel, Fatima Parish Church and the Rosary Basilica. After lunch, we will check out of our hotel and take our coach transfer to Estoril. We will check in and enjoy dinner, before taking the afternoon for free time and leisure.

Day 6 - Free day in Estoril - 18th June, 2026

The following days will allow us to relax and enjoy Estoril, with its coastline boasting some of the finest beaches or take time to discover the surrounding areas.

Cascais

Enjoy a morning walk (3 kms) along the scenic coastal promenade to the town of Cascais. The picturesque fishing town, in the 19th century attracted the Portuguese nobility and aristocracy who constructed lavish villas and houses amongst the traditional dwellings. Today Cascais is a joy to explore with a delightful historic centre with carefully maintained parks and an abundance of museums.

Sintra

A charming town this is set in the pine covered hills of the Serra da Sintra, the location of two royal palaces, ruins of an ancient castle and numerous grand villas. At the end of a day of sightseeing, back in Estoril, one can enjoy some fine dining! The Portuguese way of the life revolves around mealtimes, and the passion for restaurants is often centred around the freshly caught fish or Bacalhau (salted fish), which supposedly has 365 different ways to be cooked! With their sweet tooth, the Portuguese cakes are irresistible. Estoril is, without doubt, a wonderful place to enjoy delicious new foods or sample Portugal's fine and inexpensive wines.

Day 7 - Free day in Estoril - 19th June, 2026

This is a free day for leisure and recreation.

Day 8 - Holy Relic of St. Brigid - 20th June, 2026

This morning, we check out from our hotel before proceeding to the Airport for our return flight departing Lisbon at 11:25am.

*It is our intention to follow the itinerary as outlined above, however due to many factors like local holidays, traffic or weather conditions it may be necessary to make changes to the order of events or even the cancelation of certain events.
