Proposed Pilgrimage Itinerary *
Day 1 - Arrive in Fatima
This morning we depart Dublin Airport for our flight to Lisbon. Upon arrival, we are met by our Marian Pilgrimages guide, who will accompany us to Fatima. After a light snack on arrival, we check in to our hotel and settle into the peaceful rhythm of this sacred place. Overnight in Fatima.
We begin our pilgrimage with a guided tour of the Sanctuary of Fatima, visiting the Chapel of the Apparitions, the very heart of the Shrine; the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where the tombs of Saints Francisco and Jacinta, along with Sister Lucia, rest; and the modern Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity. After lunch, we gather to celebrate our opening Mass at the Chapel of the Apparitions. The afternoon is at leisure for private prayer. After dinner, we join pilgrims from across the world for the Rosary and Candlelight Procession.
Day 2 - International Mass & Museum Visit
This morning, we attend the International Mass at the Sanctuary, celebrated by bishops and clergy from around the world. In the afternoon, we visit the Fatima Museum, where sacred items connected to the apparitions are displayed, including the crown of Our Lady of Fatima, into which is set the bullet that struck Pope St. John Paul II during the 1981 assassination attempt. The remainder of the day is free for personal prayer. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Day 3 - Valinhos & Aljustrel
Following morning Mass, we walk the Hungarian Way of the Cross, tracing the path once taken by the shepherd children between Aljustrel and Cova da Iria. We visit Valinhos, site of the 4th apparition of Our Lady on 19th August 1917, and then to Loca do Cabeo, where the Angel of Peace appeared to the children. In Aljustrel, we visit the preserved homes of the seers, and then continue to the Parish Church of Fatima, where they were baptised. After returning to the hotel, the afternoon is free for rest or reflection. This evening we once again gather for
Rosary and the Candlelight Procession at the Sanctuary.
Day 4 - Day of Reflection in Fatima
Our final full day is spent entirely in Fatima, allowing space to reflect on the journey so far. We begin with Mass in one of the chapels of the Sanctuary, followed by time at leisure. This is an ideal opportunity to revisit the Grotto, light a candle, go to confession, or spend time in quiet conversation with Our Lady. In the evening, we gather one last time for the Candlelight Procession, joining pilgrims from across the world in prayerful unity beneath the night sky. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Day 5 - Eucharistic Miracle of Santarem
the historic town of Santarem, one of Portugal's most sacred places, and celebrate Mass at the Church of the Holy Miracle, site of the 1247 Eucharistic Miracle. Venerate the relic, still preserved in the church's tabernacle, and take time for personal prayer.
After time for prayer at the relic, we continue to Lisbon Airport for our return flight to Dublin, carrying with us the peace, grace, and blessings of Fatima.
*It is our intention to follow the itinerary as outlined above, however due to many factors like local holidays, traffic or weather conditions it may be necessary to make changes to the order of events or even the cancellation of certain events.
