Pilgrimage Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Lisbon
Check in at Dublin airport for our flight to Lisbon. On arrival in Lisbon we will be met by our guide and escorted to the coach for our transfer to Fatima where we will check in to our hotel on a full board basis. On arrival, we will have a light snack before settling into our rooms.

Day 2 - Aljustrel
The coach will pick us up at the hotel directly after breakfast for our morning trip to Valinhos and Aljustrel. We will start our trip by stopping at Valinhos where Our Lady appeared on the 19th August in 1917. Our Lady appeared to the children here as they had been taken in for questioning by the authorities on the 13th and were not at the Cova D’Iria. After praying at this very special place we will walk to the Cabeco where the angel appeared to them the first and third of the three occasions that he appeared in 1916. We then proceed to Aljustrel, the village where the three little shepherds were born. We visit their homes and the well at the bottom of Lucia’s garden where the angel appeared the second time. Our last stop before we return to the hotel will be Fatima Parish Church. Lunch in the hotel restaurant. In the afternoon attend Mass in the Capelinha (apparition site) after which there will be an introductory tour of the sanctuary, see the Capelinha, the Rosary Basilica and tombs of the Seers, Statue of the Sacred Heart and water fountain, candle area, Berlin Wall, Chapel of Adoration, Reconciliation Chapel and Basilica of the Holy Trinity. We return to our hotel for dinner. Each evening at 21.30 there will be Rosary and Candlelight procession in the Sanctuary.

Day 3 - Optional trip to Santarem
This morning there will be an optional half day excursion to the city of Santarem where we will visit the church of St. Stephen also known as the church of the Eucharistic Miracle. There we will celebrate Mass and venerate the Sacred Host that miraculously bled in the year 1247, as the result of It being treated with disrespect. Return to Fatima for lunch in the hotel. In the afternoon spend some free time visiting the tombs of the shepherds or spend a while in the museum of light and peace where we can see the bullet in the Crown of Our Lady and the Irish Monstrance. After dinner there will be rosary at the Capelinha followed by the Candlelight Procession.

Day 4 - International Mass
This morning after breakfast attend International Mass in the Sanctuary (openair) which is followed by the Farewell Procession when the statue of Our Lady is carried from the Altar back to the Capelinha and everyone waves a white handkerchief. Lunch in the hotel restaurant. Free afternoon with the option of attending the Blessed Sacrament Procession and Benediction in the Sanctuary. Dinner. Rosary and Candlelight Procession.

Day 5 - St. Anthony's
This morning after breakfast we will have a little free time before checking out of the Hotel. Our coach will collect us and proceed to Lisbon where we will have Mass in St Anthony’s Church and birthplace. After Mass we then stop at the Jeronimos Park for our picnic lunch. After lunch we will head to Estoril on the coast where we will check in to the Hotel Estoril Eden Hotel for four nights on half board basis.

Day 6 – Estoril
Time to enjoy the pool, the beach or local shopping centres. Estoril has had a long association with Europe’s elite and famous, with many attracted by the glamour of the grand casino. Stroll into the nearby charming old town of Cascais where you will find plenty to do and see or enjoy some of the many restaurants, bars and shops. It is a traditional Portuguese fishing town and was a resort for Portugal’s Royal Family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Day 7 - Free day in Estoril
In Estoril.

Day 8 – Depart Lisbon.
Enjoy some free time in the morning before our coach transfer to Lisbon Airport for return flight to Dublin.
