Room of the Last Supper, believed to be the room
where Jesus and His Disciples shared supper the
evening before His capture. Dinner at hotel.
Day 5 - Dead Sea
Visit Bethany for
Mass, and see the
tomb of Lazarus.
Drive via the Inn of
the Good Samaritan,
located
between
Jerusalem and Jericho,
to the Dead Sea.
Take some time to relax and float on the water near
Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found
between 1946 and 1956. Continue into Jericho and
see the Mount of Temptation. This is said to be the
mountain where Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights
fasting and where it was said he was tempted by
Satan. Also in Jericho we will see the Sycamore tree
that Zacchaeus, the local tax collector, climbed in
order to get a glimpse of Jesus. It was after meeting
with Jesus that resulted in Zacchaeus in turing
over a new leaf. Drive along the Jordan Valley to
Tiberias and check into hotel for 4 nights with
dinner & breakfast.
Day 6 - Mount of Beatitudes
This morning visit the Mount of Beatitudes
overlooking the Sea of Galilee. This is the location
where Jesus delivered the “Sermon on the Mount”.
Celebrate Mass and take part in a full reading of
the great Sermon on
the Mount. Visit
Capernaum – where we
see the old Synagogue
and the excavations
of Peter’s mother in
law’s house. Visit
also the site of the
multiplication of the
Loaves and Fish at Tabgha and the church of the
Primacy of Peter on the lake-shore. Take a boat trip
across the Sea of Galilee to Tiberias with relevant
Bible readings. Return to the hotel for dinner.
