Estoril
This perfect beach town is located just 30km
from Lisbon. Famous for its golf courses,
casinos and glamour, Estoril was inspiration
for the James Bond film, Casino Royale. The
picturesque beach of Tamariz has a number of
bars and restaurants. During World War II, this
beautiful seaside town became refuge to many
writers, artists and politicians. Cascais, famous
for its lovely villas and restaurants, is located just
a short walk along the seafront.
Lisbon
Our optional tour of Lisbon is a full day tour
along with a guide.
We will enjoy a
packed lunch in
the park beside
the Monument to
the
Discoveries
dedicated
to
the
Portuguese
heroes
who sailed to the Far
East. We will see the Belem Tower also known
as St. Vincent’s Tower. While in Lisbon we will
celebrate Mass in the Basilica of St. Anthony
and take some time for shopping in the local
shopping centre.
Nazare
Marian Pilgrimages also offer a half day tour to
the quaint little fishing village of Nazare. Spend
some time on the beautiful beach or take some
time to walk along the picturesque promenade
and explore the local shops. See the local
fishermens wives with their special stalls selling
sweets and other items as they wait for their
husbands to return from sea. Visit the chapel
dedicated to Our Lady of Nazare located on the
hilltop of Sitio which overlooks the village of
Nazare.
