Fatima & Compostela - From €895
On arrival in Lisbon we meet our coach and drive to St Anthony’s Shrine. Celebrate Mass, see his
birthplace and visit the nearby Cathedral. While in Lisbon we will take in a brief panoramic city
sightseeing tour also. During our tour we will see the Commercial Square, Jeronimo’s Monastery,
Belem Tower, Monument to the Discoveries, and Edward VII Park. En
route from Lisbon to Fatima we will stop off in Santarem, and visit the
Shrine of the Eucharistic Miracle. Continue on to Fatima.
While in Fatima we take part in an orientation tour around the
Sanctuary. See the Berlin Wall, the old Holmoak, the Monument to
the Sacred Heart and the Fountain, the Capelinho at Cova da Iria, the
Basilica of the Rosary where we see the tombs of Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia. See the High Cross
and visit the Chapel of the Trinity. Visit also the homes of the Little Shepherds and see the Well
in Lucia’s garden. We will also celebrate Mass in the Parish Church, and visit the Museum and
Chapel of Perpetual Adoration. Take some time to take part in the Hungarian Way of the Cross
to Valinhos and Aljustrel. Each evening we will take part in the torchlight procession which is
extremely impressive.
Drive from Fatima to Santiago and en route visit the home of Blessed
Alexandrina and celebrate Mass at her Shrine in Balazar. Visit also the
spectacular Shrine of Bom Jesus de Monte in Braga. While in Santiago
we follow tradition by washing in the stream at Lavacolla. Here we
taste “Tarte Santiago”, some local wines & confectionery. We will
also drive to Arca and take a short walk on the famous Camino de
Santiago. Back in Santiago we visit the Cathedral – see the Portico
of Glory, Jessie Tree, Master Mateo, embrace the statue of St James above the High
Altar, and visit his tomb in the Crypt.
