David Parkes &The Guides
For the last 16 years, David Parkes, our pilgrim
director, has led the Marian Pilgrimages
programme in Medjugorje. David has in this
time successfully organised, coordinated and
helped over 100,000 pilgrims in Medjugorje.
David has a special connection to Medjugorje
and can indeed relate to many people who
have been touched by Medjugorje. This
connection allows him to be entirely involved
with any aspect of a trip and does so with great
understanding and reverence.
While David is responsible for all aspects of
the pilgrimage experience, he is joined by the
assistance of 5 full time Marian Pilgrimages
staff. Each has numerous years of experience
working with pilgrims and our Group Leaders.
Our guides have built up a strong relationship
with our pilgrims and group leaders creating a
sense of family and an atmosphere of a home
away from home. Along with David and the
guides, the Marian Pilgrimages office, located
on the main street in Medjugorje, is open to give
any assistance to our pilgrims.

Traditionally accommodation in Medjugorje
is in private houses on a half board basis. The
rooms in all our houses are single, twin or treble
rooms en-suite, with some quads and family
rooms available. All of our houses now have lifts.
There is an open tea & coffee-making facility in
every house. All our accommodation is within a
7 minute stroll to the church. The hosts of each
house, who all speak English and even a “cupla
focal”, guarantee a friendly and hospitable stay
throughout your week.
Since 1991 Marian Pilgrimages has been bringing pilgrims to
Medjugorje, reintroducing flights to the region after years of conflict.
MarianPilgrimages has become one of the largest operators in theworld
to the shrine and has developed strong and meaningful relationships in
the region allowing us to provide the best of accommodation, transport
