Sample itinerary to Padua, Lake Garda & Milan
Day 1 – Padua
Morning departure to Milan. Upon arrival we
transfer to Padua where we will stay for two
nights on a half board basis. This afternoon
we visit the Shrine of St. Leopold Mandic,
the Croatian capuchin friar known as a great
confessor and canonised by Pope John Paul II
in October 1983. Continue onto the Basilica of
St. Anthony where we will celebrate the opening
Mass of our pilgrimage and afterwards have
time for private prayer and reflection. Return
to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Venice
After morningMass we travel by train to Venice,
the great maritime republic, once the richest city
in the world. Today we will witness the results,
crowned by St. Marks’ Square with the Doge’s
Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica. Afternoon at
leisure for shopping and sightseeing before
returning to our hotel.
Day 3 – Lake Garda
Celebrate Mass in Padua and afterwards take
a panoramic tour. In the afternoon transfer to
Lake Garda where we will stay for three nights
on a half board basis.
Day 4 – Lake Garda
This morning we have free time to relax or take
a trip by boat around the lake. Return to our
hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Verona
This morning we travel to Verona, famous as
the setting for Shakespeare’s play ‘Romeo and
Juliet’. Take in a panoramic tour of Verona
enjoying views including the grand arena which
hosts the world famous opera festival. After
free time for personal sightseeing we return to
Lake Garda for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Milan
Morning transfer to Milan. Celebrate Mass in
the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and
afterwards see one of the most recognised
artistic masterpieces in the world, Leonardo da
Vinci’s Last Supper. We will have panoramic
tour of Milan enjoying views of the main sights,
including the fifteenth century Sforza Castle
and the famous La Scala Theatre. Continue
onto our hotel where we will stay for two nights
on a half board basis.
Day 7 – Sotto Il Monte
Morning transfer to the town of Sotto Il Monte,
the birthplace of St. John XXIII. During the five
yearsof hisPontificatePope JohnXXIII appeared
to the world as an authentic image of the Good
Shepherd. He undertook many spiritual works
of mercy, welcoming people of all nations and
religions. He was declared blessed in the year
